im looking for something to even out my skin tone. im new at makeup so i have no idea wats good for me. i have oily skin so nothing that would make it even oilier. i heard powder just makes it look very fake. im not sure about tinted moisturizer, doesn't that just make it more oiler? i don't know, and as u see i am very confused. im fifteen so im not like eleven or anything trying to pile on makeup.

okay to make things clear, i need something that evens out my skintone and looks very natural and doesnt make it oily and doesnt look fake. and listing products will definetly help.

Natural looking makeup isn't from a brand, it's from application.

Every form of foundation can make you look ';fake';, including mousse, liquid, powder, cake, etc. For oilier skin, I suggest trying out pressed (or loose, but pressed will be less messy and more convenient) powders and getting a good powder/kabuki brush for it. And by good, I mean soft and non irritating to your skin, so you can easily find an affordable brush. I suggest looking at Ecotools, since there are a lot of positive reviews for those brushes. A tinted moisturizer CAN make you oilier, but there are some (I think?) for different skin types. You can always use blotting papers or some powder over top to help reduce shine throughout the day.

There are also some methods that people have used to help reduce the ';fake'; look of powder, such as applying it wet (Spray the brush with some water after dipping it into the powder, then blend into the skin). By applying thin layers and blending it out properly, it will help keep the foundation looking more natural.

As for brands, I don't currently use foundation so I don't really have a list of suggestions. However, I suggest checking out makeupalley.com for reviews, and just searching either for specific drug store brands or for foundations of every brand/formula. You can also just look up brands that you are interested in online and look for reviews from various websites.

Hope this helps :)

Oh and Amanda: Pretty much all of those brands you recommended are NOT ';natural'; and they do contain preservatives and other irritating ingredients. However, so do ';mineral'; makeup brands such as Bare Minerals and every other brand. Every ingredient is potentially able to irritate your skin and any of those can easily cake up and look terrible on the skin. There is no difference between traditional and ';mineral'; makeup other than the occasional removal of fillers. Is there any natural looking make up out there?
Yes there is, its called mineral makeup, it's made of all natural, finely ground minerals from the earth, without any of the chemicals, dyes, and preservatives you would find in traditional make up.
