The natural look - i don't get it - women wear make-up to look 'natural' surely a contradiction?

lol it sort of is a contradiction. We go for a ';natural look'; because we don't want to look heavily made up, but we still want to correct imperfections. The natural look from makeup is just highlighting your natural features while evening out your skin tone. So, for me, I would wear a light foundation to even out my skin, a light brown eyeshadow with brown liner (brown brings out blue eyes), one coat of mascara, and a light pink gloss to make my lips shiny. Yes, it's makeup, but not makeup to look made up - it is there simply to highlight.The natural look - i don't get it - women wear make-up to look 'natural' surely a contradiction?
It is a contradiction but if you saw us really ';natural'; you wouldnt be asking this question!! lol
Ahhh I'm a big fan of the natural look when applying my makeup.





The purpose is to enhance your features without looking like you applied makeup on with a shovel. It's all about the tiny adjustments... for example skin that looks a little fresher, cheeks that look a little rosier and eyes that look a little wider.





So, we're not applying makeup to look natural. Rather we're applying makeup to look better but we want the makeup itself to look natural. We want to look as though we have all of those tiny adjustments without actually looking like we're wearing makeup at all.

woman want to look naturally beautiful if you understand me. most people wear makeup to cover imperfections and to give them a natural healthy glow which is more beautiful than slapping it on with a shovel. the best way to achieve a natural look is by wearing no eyeshadow and just a little bit of blush.
Get over it...its a girl thing...its make up its for girls...what do you want to be a girl or something?...and if you are a girl what are you jealous of every girl on the planet?
Maybe look at it like this. When properly applied, you can't tell a woman has makeup on. The natural look is more to enhance the good, hide the bad. I do the 'natural' look myself because I don't particularly like wearing makeup, but I have flaws that I wish to hide. I don't do eye shadow, I'm not about bright colors and hardly even wear lipstick these days.
yeah, its a little contridicting but alot of women feel prettier with makeup on than without, and no one wants to look like they have 3 layers of foundation so they want it to look natural.


the same can go for dying your hair or artificial teeth. no one wants them to be noticable, they want to be blessed with their beauty.


its a vanity thing.
